Although we’ve had lessons about writing scripts, this is my first time writing a script without any dialogue. So I didn’t know how I should structure my script. Thus, I did some research and noted down all of the needed things to include in a screenplay and some examples.
First, here's a list of things that we have to include in the script (both with dialogue and without dialogue):
Slug line: This is the heading that gives us information about when and where the scene is happening
+) We start with INT./EXT. indicating if the scene is indoor or outdoor - and the specific location of the scene
+) Next, we add the time of day after a dash (day/night) next to the location
Action: This is the most important since it’s the non-dialogue part of the scene. That means all movements and expressions on camera of the character is written in this part
+) State who the character is (name) and also add an age next to it so that the art department knows how to style the character.
+) Include details of action, what props do we need to prepare, and sound effects
+) Instead of only telling what emotions the character is feeling, use descriptive words to describe how the character shows that feeling through facial expressions and body language, so that actors can take a note on how to act it out.
Add Transitions we want to include in between shots
The example structure that I followed is this Shaun The Sheep script: https://www.latimes.com/entertainment/movies/moviesnow/la-et-mn-shaun-the-sheep-script-with-no-dialogue-20150804-htmlstory.html
